MEET DR. EDWARD MURDOCH

When asked about his background, Dr Murdoch replies “I was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada. My father was a dentist and my mom a nurse educator so it was inevitable that all of their children pursued healthcare professions with one pharmacist, one physician and two dentists.”

After an undergraduate degree in Biology at UNB in his hometown, Dr Murdoch attended dental school at Dalhousie University in Halifax, N.S.. While there, he worked hard winning awards and excelling to the top of his class

earning access to advanced education/training in both Temporomandibular Disorders and Dentofacial Orthopedics/Orthodontics at Eastman Dental Centre, Rochester NY.

Since founding Oceans Edge Orthodontics in 2009, he has focused on changing lives, advancing the profession and supporting his community. Together, he and his outstanding team have treated thousands of patients from all over Vancouver Island.

In addition to being an orthodontic specialist, Dr Murdoch continues to be a both a perpetual student and a teacher/study club mentor to his team/local dentists. He writes often and authors special reports/newsletters about orthodontics. Currently, he is in the process of writing a book on orthodontics to increase awareness and provide education for patients and the general public.

Dr Murdoch has recently committed to being the first orthodontic practice in British Columbia to bring the non profit organization, Smiles Change Lives, into their community.This organization provides life changing treatment to children and adults.This is one of the many ways they give back to people in need in the local communities.

Asked what makes his practice different, Dr Murdoch passionately replies “It’s the people, the culture, and our commitment to obsessively serve not only the smiles but the best interests of our patients, their families and the communities we live in.”
